In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen the TikTok Logo somewhere. TikTok is a newish social platform that has been rapidly gaining popularity recently and it’s taken Gen Z by storm. Heck, even Millenials and Boomers are joining in on the fun.
In this article, we’ll discuss the logo. What is is, where it came from, and what it means…
The TikTok Logo is designed to look like a musical eighth note. There’s actually three of them slightly offset from each other in cyan, white, and magenta to give the illusion of the 3-D effect. Underneath the note, the name TikTok is written clearly in a simple sans serif font.
This logo design is an homage to the old musical.ly app on which TikTok is based. In 2017, ByteDance, the owner of TikTok bought Musical.ly and merged it with its TikTok app. It clearly conveys the message that this is a music-based app.
To the untrained eye, it looks as if the TikTok logo hasn’t changed. However, there have been two small changes to it over time.

In 2017, the “Tik Tok” wordmark was added to the logo in its sans serif font.

In 2018, the space in TikTok was eliminated and the dot on the “I” was made round instead of square.
The TikTok Logo Today
Before the 2020 Lockdown, it seemed that TikTok was only for Gen Z. However, Covid Lockdowns brought people of all ages and generations to the app and it saw explosive growth.
Most recently though, Millennials have been taking over the platform and using it to market their businesses. TikTok has transformed from a place where teenagers can badly lip-sync and dance to music to a place where young content creators can get their message out to the world.
If you have a message that you want to get out to the world, TikTok is a great place to do it. The algorithm is discovery based meaning that your content is pushed out to people that do not know you and it’s a very easy way to grow a large following.
I myself have been having success as an affiliate marketer and have even been featured in a course explaining how to make money on TikTok. I’ve grown to 13,300 followers in a little over 3 months and I’m getting over 200,000 video views a month.

After cutting my sales & marketing teeth in the retail car business, I decided to venture out into the world of entrepreneurship in 2017 with an app based car rental business. I marketed that business using social media and had some success, but ultimately it would fail in January of 2020.
After losing that business, I turned to content creation and marketing digital products. After launching several successful information products, I realized that the real staying and compounding power was in selling software as a service. Another pivot in 2022 led to earning the coveted "SaaSpreneur Gold" award from HighLevel in 2023.
